nurses Silver buckle made in England in 1901
This Antique English Sterling Silver nurse's buckle is one of the loveliest we have had in stock. It was made by the firm of Adie and Lovekin Ltd, their mark on the reverse is stamped as 'A & L Ld'. The belt buckle is hall marked to both pieces with the anchor for Birmingham assay office, the lion for sterling silver and the date letter 'b' for 1901. There is also a registered design number stamped to reverse, 336654. These makers, Adie & Lovekin Ltd, were leading Birmingham producers of sewing items, scissors, button hooks, pin cushions, babies rattles, bookmarks, nurses buckles and other novelty silver items. The buckle is in excellent condition with just some slight kinks to belt guide bars on reverse of buckle. It still meets at the front and sits in good alignment. The buckle measures 6.25cm (2.5") across. Perfect for that graduating nurse or a special gift for mid career.
